Library launches new PDA services!top

The Grunigen Medical Library is pleased to announce new Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) services and resources for faculty, students, and staff. More information about PDA services and resources is available at the PDA Resources page. It can also be found on the GML home page -- just follow the link at the bottom left-hand side of the home page.

The new page contains lists of free and subscription PDA resources. The lists include e-journal and e-book collections, article databases, guidelines, tools and calculators, and links to PDA-friendly web sites and reference guides. The page also provides helpful instructions for downloading and browsing PDA resources, and brief descriptions of each application. Some of the PDA applications available include:

  • Harrison's Online
  • Emergency Medicine Manual
  • Merck Manual
  • Clinical Evidence
  • UpToDate
  • Diagnosaurus
  • Micromedex
  • Epocrates RX
The Grunigen Medical Library's Information Technology Center (ITC) also loans a limited number of PDAs (Palm, Pocket PC, and IPod Touch), preloaded with academic applications, to faculty, students, and residents to support mobile computing for education and research. Additionally, technical assistance for PDAs is provided to users by the ITC staff. More information about PDA services and resources is available by contacting Jorge Santiago, ITC Manager, at 714-456-5585 or gml@uci.edu.
