1. The UCI Libraries Ask a Medical Librarian online reference service is intended for use by UCI faculty, staff, and students, and community healthcare specialists, educators, and students, and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis during specified hours.
   
   
2. Ask a Medical Librarian can provide:
   
   
   • Assistance in locating and using print or electronic resources relating to the fields of medicine and medical education including journals, books, databases, and multimedia materials.
   • Assistance in conducting research using library and computer-based tools and resources.
   • Information pertaining to the UCI Libraries, the UCI Medical Center, and UC Irvine.
   
   
3. Ask a Medical Librarian cannot provide:
   
   
   • Medical advice, assistance, or diagnosis.
   • Doctor referrals or recommendations.
   • Information regarding hospital policies, procedures, or administration.
   • Answers to hospital billing or insurance questions.
   • Patient or procurement information.
