Visual Dx Trial

The UCI Libraries are participating in a trial of VisualDx, a visual decision and diagnostic support tool. The trial will run from January 10 through April 15, 2011. The direct link to the product is http://www.visualdx.com/visualdx. We welcome your feedback regarding the usefulness and accuracy of this product.

VisualDx integrates the world's most comprehensive collection of digital medical images with regularly updated and physician-reviewed clinical information.

The VisualDx software enables rapid visual and iconic search entry of visible patient clues. Diagnostic queries may also be entered by disease name. Possible diagnoses are presented visually in side-by-side comparisons to the patient's presentation or other diagnostic possibilities. This allows the clinician to build a customized pictorial differential diagnosis in seconds, drawn from thousands of medical photographs revealing variations in presentation between - as well as within - diseases.

During the period of this trial, the VisualDx Mobile app (VDx Mobile) for the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone are also available at no charge. Simply click the link on the VisualDx web page to complete a brief registration form. If you are a medical student, please indicate this by entering the appropriate designation for your year, e.g., "MS1", "MS2", "MS3", etc. in the box labeled "Title (optional)" on the registration form.

The VPN is required for access from off-campus (http://www.lib.uci.edu/how/connect-from-off-campus.html)
Please send comments and feedback to Steve Clancy (sclancy@uci.edu), Linda Murphy (lmurphy@uci.edu), Judy Bube (jlbube@uci.edu), or Bob Johnson (robertj@uci.edu)
